Associate membership is available to all applicants such as Dental Core Trainees, Senior House Officers and General Dental Practitioners. Associate membership entitles you to apply to participate in any active projects, to request assistance with your current research projects (please note CONNECT will not therefore assign our own Project Lead in this instance), or to suggest ideas for projects with an identified senior lead. You may also be offered the opportunity to present on our behalf, and to contribute towards a publication. Full membership is only available to Trainees with an NTN, and may be considered for some other applicants if appropriate. Full membership entitles you to all the benefits of an Associate membership, and additionally you may act as a Project Lead, and apply for positions within the Executive Committee or to be your Local Trainee or Trust Lead.

This group is primarily aimed at this group of trainees, and facilitating research training and experience which is essential but can be difficult to acquire through the specialty training pathway. Therefore, this cohort of members is given the additional opportunity to lead their project, and to participate in the organisational structure of the group. Associate members are offered a wealth of opportunity to participate within these projects, acquiring valuable skills and developing their CV to prepare them for applications to the next stage of their training but requiring less time commitment.

You can apply for membership by completing the online form. This is available from the 'ABOUT CONNECT' tab. Once we have received your form, you will be invited to sign up and create your password and profile.

As a member we expect that you will act professionally and courteously at all times, and respect others intelluectual property. A member should participate in at least ONE area/project within a 12month period, or they will be contacted by the Executive Committee to review their membership. CONNECT are happy to provide details to any member who requires, a summary on official headed paper of their involvement with the group and details of participation in projects and associated presentations and publications. This will be signed by a member of the Executive Committee. We will not do so for any member who has not yet participated in any active capacity.
